Starting 30 August 2023, we will be making changes in the fees for some of our services and this article would focus on Cross Border Transaction fee imposed on merchants located outside Malaysia.
There is an additional 0.5% + network charges on the transaction amount for transactions performed with a merchant located outside Malaysia and made in MYR denominator.
In most cases, this should total to around 1.5% but may be subject to changes.
This fee only applies to card transactions made via your physical blue card or white virtual card.
Here are a few scenarios which would allow you the understand the changes better:
Merchant Location | Transaction currency | Type of transaction | Transaction amount | Fee charged by BigPay |
Ireland | MYR | Card | RM 100 | RM 100*1.5% = RM1.50 |
Thailand | THB | QR | THB 1000 | No additional fee imposed |
Malaysia | MYR | Card | RM 100 | No additional fee imposed |

- We want to continue improving and providing you with these services that you know and love, but we have to introduce fees for these because we incur costs when we make these services available to you.
- Rest assured we will endeavour to keep our rates competitive and fees transparent, so you can pay at home and abroad with peace of mind.
